First I'd like to thank all who cane out for this event to help raise money or donated in other ways. Tuesday turned out to be a great day on the lake with no rain, and plenty of action for all. Started out out tHirsty Turtle at 6:30 and finished at 12:30. Everyone seemed to catch fish and have a story to tell. From Lg, SM bass, muskie follows strippers and walleye everyone had action. We raised over $1400,00 for Leukemia and everyone won some prizes. Fishing For a Cure 6/2/09

Celebrating our third year, we are hoping to continue to expand our fishing tournament to raise money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, our official charity. We have a special arrangement with this charity allowing us to use 100% of all our proceeds going directly to individual researchers dedicated to finding a cure. UFCW (United Food Commercial Workers) Local 1546 raises on average $100,000 for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society annually, and we work closely with the Illinois Chapter to provide service and support for any of our members and the general public. This fishing tournament is just one of the many fundraising events we conduct for this worthy cause. Make plans to join us for a fun day of fishing and friendship on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at the Thirsty Turtle on Channel Lake. Registration opens at 5:30 AM and the tournament begins at 6:30 AM and ends at 12:30 PM. We’ll be catching and releasing Large Small Mouth Bass, Walleye Muskie with award prizes to the top fishermen teams. Plus we will have a raffle and silent auction during the lunch program to raise even more funds to benefit blood cancer research. The cost is $55.00 per person or $110 per team (2 person team per boat). The cost includes your launch fee and lunch.

2nd annual Fishing tournament at BaJa Bennys on Fox Lake sunday May 17th Sign in starts at 5:00 a.m. and the tournament kicks off at 6:00 a.m , weigh in is at 1:00 p.m sharp ! entry fee is $40.00 there will be 4 categories 1) Bass ___________________by length * weight used for tie breaker 2) Walleye_________________by length * weight used for tie breaker 3) Catfish__________________bylength * weight used for tie breaker 4) Pan fish _________________by weight of your top 10 Pan fish *Panfish we consider Bluegil Sunfish warmouth Rockbass crappies perch whit bass/yellow bass The tournament is for the entire chain of lakes ,not just fox lake. The $ 40 entry fee is for Individual, and covers all four categories. You can have as many anglers you want on a boat. And you are allowed to use live bait. You must have an Illinois fishing license and A fox waterway sticker (they do sell a one day stickers for $10 ) and all fish will be released after weigh in. * Individual can take their own catch. UFCW Local 1546 will host our second annual fishing tournament for Leukemia on Tuesday, June 3, 2008. Our launch site is at the Thirsty Turtle on Channel Lake in Antioch, IL. This charitable event raises money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society with 100% of all proceeds benefitting blood cancer research. We'll be catching and releasing Large Small Mouth Bass, Walleye Muskie with award prizes to the top fishermen team. Registration opens at 5:30 am and the tournament begins at 6:30 am and ends at 12:30 pm. The cost is $55.00 per person or $110 per team (2 person team per boat).
